At 62, I'm new to this format but up to speed over 30 yrs ago on the 4 runner.

I will keep this short-

1985 4runner rolled down the hill, went through a chain link fence, and then, the nice oak tree stopped it for me

It was bought fully restored in 13' ish in Central CA. Everything worked.

Interior is almost complete with most wear on the driver seat.
Small imperfection on driver side door panel. Bout 1/16" black spot.

Pics show rear seats folded down and have been since my oak tree friend helped me out.

Front driver seat broke due to 105qt. Gott.

Moon roof w/visor

Outside

Frame bent

Front axle, looks good w/ string ( Egyptian way)

Outside is toast but tailgate is in great condition.

Doors open fine

0 rust so cab from A pillar to b can n reused.

And all those hard to get parts.....

I feel there is Still some meat on the bone for those resellers ( love capitalism ) that put in the effort or the individuals that have those customers in need.

Great 4x4 for its generation . I hate to see it go.

OP don't pay attention to the haters. Too many people today are just happy paying for a 75k hybrid 4runner to go to the mall with and can't see the value of the parts in your rig, sorry for your misfortune on that one.

I am not building a 2nd gen at the moment, but I do know just the visibly undamaged body panels and interior pieces are worth a fortune to the right buyer.

Best of luck in finding the right buyer. If you take it apart and catalog the parts individually you may have better luck getting more money out of it.

 

I appreciate the rarity of that model and the parted out value. But 10k cuz you need it out of your world? Seems just a little high.

$3500 non-op. No one in their right mind would pay $10k for a crashed parts truck when they can be had for much less in better condition. That's just the reality of the situation.

realistically you can prob. Get 5000 from the right buyer if someone needs a full drive train. And wants some extra parts. You might be waiting a bit for that guy. I’ve been calling the wreckers and I’m getting 200 for mine this weekend to have it dragged out of here and I just put 2000 into a new engine. But it’s out of my yard and that 200 goes into a Ford F150 that runs. My time is very valuable and every day I spend off work is $600 out of my pocket. So if you want to come and pick mine up you can have it for 500 and deal with it yourself swapping all the parts and see if you can get mine running

I truly enjoy the fact that you cited a Hagerty value of $40,000, as if that comparable was in the same condition. Hagerty currently values a #4 at $7,000 CAD ($5,120 USD), and that #4 rating is not a crashed Pick-n-Pull special.
