Will these Tacoma rims fit on my 5th gen?

Hey guys, I am looking at these Tacoma wheels for a winter set of rims on my 2015 4-runner. Does anyone know if they will fit? I have read so many conflicting reviews saying they will or they won't. I guess the 4-runner bore is big which makes finding something that fits more difficult. Thanks in advance

 

What year Tacoma are those from?

I think for the most part Tacoma Wheels from the 2nd and 3rd gen should fit, provided they are 17 inches or larger.

Do you know the offset on those?

 

Nah. 106.1mm center bore is pretty common among Toyotas, which is what you have on your 5th Gen. I think the newer ones went to a 95mm center bore. As @Thatbassguy said, they should fit as long as they are 17 inch or larger to clear the brake calipers. If those are in fact 18 inch wheels, that is odd coming off of a Tacoma. More information is needed...

 

From what I can tell, they are off a 2016 tacoma limited. I have emailed the guy to find out more info

 

Ya those are the Tacoma Limited rims.

 

These will fit. The wheels are 18x7.5" offset +25mm.

You should verify in person if these are chrome finish or matte silver with a plastic chrome cap. The chrome cap will be lower maintenance in road salt, but may shatter if hit at lower temperatures.

 

You will have limited (pun intended) tire choices with 18" wheels. Fewer choices than 17".

 

It's about the wheel offset. Tacoma has more positive + offset which moves the wheel closer to the frame. Negative- offset moves the wheel to the outside more. 4runners are +4, Tacoma + 14, Tundra +60. I bought some 18" Tundra wheels I liked, but they were +60 and moved the wheels way to the inside and even with spacers it still looked funny. You might have to change UCAs if you go to much positive offset. Honestly. TRD 4runner wheels are really the best bet with no problems. I have 17" with Negative -12 offset and I wouldn't go over 0 to -4 offset again. As much as I didn't want to look like everyone else. I'm going to replace with TRD wheels eventually. Thanks for all your help guys. The gentleman with the rims for sale got back to me last night and the rims are from a 2015 Taco. He also sent some more pics and the chrome is peeling on two of the rims pretty badly. Darn it, oh well. The hunt continues.

I was looking at 18" wheels, there's some interesting sizes. I forget the actual size, but there's one that equates to a 32.5 x 10.5 which seems like a perfect 4Runner size.

 

The offset is cast into the backside of each wheel.

 

I understand that's a popular size for Jeep Wranglers, as most of them ship with 18" wheels.

 

I think the Sahara models might be the only one that come with the 18s, I know the Rubicon Wheels are 17s, as well as the Sport and Willy's

I can see that size being a great stock replacement for a Sahara, because Jeeps are so easy to throw big tires on. I think it takes less work to throw a 37 on a Wrangler than a 33 on a 4Runner.

 

^Yes the Sahara is the volume trim. Most rentals are Saharas.

 

I thought about 18s, but it limits my tire selection. I found more for 17s. I was thinking of ride quality offroad and in general.

 

Yes. Mickey Thompson makes a Baja Boss Q rating that's a 6 or 8 ply and not as heavy. Falken makes a 6-8 ply in-between SL and LT now. The SL Falkens I was shopping were about 20 lbs heavier than my SLs.

 

I just don't like the size choices with 17s, and the fact that you're likely to end up with a tire that's only available in load range E and not C.

It would be great if they offered a 265/75-17, that was the same width as stock but maybe an inch or so taller.

 

Go to a 275/70-17 and it will give you the extra height and a little width to look fatter. It will work just fine stock everything. Here's a link that you can plug in sizes and specs, offset, spacer and anything else. It will show tire and wheel comparisons and differences.

 

Yeah, but that size is only available in an e load. I really prefer not to run an E load.

 

Me too. I don't need anything that heavy and don't haul that much. Even if I did, I have a tire gauge. I know these Bajas are made for purpose, but not my everyday purpose and the silica sidewalls seem weak in SL. I have AWD and I need a more flat faced tred. My rear tires are wearing funny on the outside edges and I don't know if it's too much preload on my sway bar and/or the limited slip that has no slip I have observed. I drive curves hard and rear doesn't seem to flex as much as the front and it may be pushing the rubber off because it can't flex enough in the suspension. My Ram limited slip wore tires a little funny too. I want tires I can criss-cross rotate.

 

Those are 10-13 4runner wheels. I traded mine off like an idiot and the boy traded them off. You can get new aftermarket wheel replacements just like that at Carid, Rockauto, etc. They are hard to find without the black inside them.
