I finally got one of these and look forward to getting it ready for some overland trekking in Canada, Alaska and Mexico/Central America. I purchased it in Cohoes NY and gave it a shake down drive from Highland to Cape Cod and back, felt okay but the wheel has a bit of shimmy at 65 mph. Also have a heat shield or some other rattle start at around 500 miles into the trip on the way back. Smooth drive, quiet, kind of car like. The wheels are a bit agressive and noisy. I managed to get up to around 21mpg on the clock, will probably be better with road tires (thinking Michelin LTX). Going to do undercoat asap (any recommendations will be appreciated). Looking forward to getting and giving information on this forum.

the shimmy at 65 is probably a tire just out of balance. Road force balancing your tires should fix this. And get it fluid filmed, wool waxed or PB blaster surface shield for the undercoating. If you pan to take it off the pavement, ensure your tires can handle the sharp rocks.
