    Oooh look, another mod.....
Thank God. I hope they stop making cars with this feature. The rental I'm driving right now has this feature. It started/stopped 9 times while sitting at a stop light.

Ya gotta love the timeline where people refuse to buy A through C segment cars, yet start-stop is considered fine on 6k pound 4x4s used to commute alone.

The lack of the Auto-Stop-Start feature is one of the reasons I chose my 5th gen over a Jeep.

The way things are going, maybe they'll roll back emissions standards by two decades and make the 2JZ-GTE compliant again

Having owned my '25 TRD ORP for a whopping 13 days, I just realized it does not have auto start/stop!

Maybe the Hybrid versions do? Auto Start/Stop is listed in my owners manual and even points out the cancellation button. I looked, no cancellation button! My 23 Honda Ridgeline had it and I hated it!

Maybe you said already, but how do you like the new 4R?

I really love it so far but I can't compare it to previous generations of 4Runners having never owned one. I'll do a write up of what I like and dont like when I get to 1K miles. But it is way better than the Ridgeline for sure. Lots of tech though - I have never had to read an owners manual and watch Youtube videos more than with any vehicle i have ever owned.

While we’re standing at the dumpster designated for bad automotive ideas, along with auto start/stop let’s also toss out cylinder deactivation, haptic switches, shared driving data, and my personal favorite, illuminated exterior badges…

adding to that ditching the hand pulled parking brake in favor of console space for huge drinks and purses. Now since the foot operated brakes are even being replaced by electronic versions that have to be placed in "service position" just to be rolled onto a flatbed, and no standard way to release when battery is dead. The other day I saw a GM with electronic parking brake that just wouldn't release and had to be dragged with tires screeching onto a flatbed carrier.

This was my favorite parking brake setup:

That said, I do appreciate grown-up size cup holders.

    Can confirm..

A bunch of guys from the Wisconsin crew went through some deeper crossings this spring in Kentucky, and a few are having starter issues.
