But I really like this website better in every way.

My point is also that I feel kinda bad posting what I did with my 4R when the thread is what did you do to it.

Took the 4Runner up to a place where I usually backpack. South Ridge Road in Idyllwild, CA. Moderately rough road to get there so it feels good to have the 4Runner. There are some yellow post sites (first come, first served campsites) so I thought I'd grab one and try out some car camping. Also gave me a chance to use my Slumberjack tarp and OVS Freedom crossbars (at least one of the bars) for the first time.

 

Discovered a dispersed campsite a year or so ago. Short rough-ish section of road leading to it. Talked myself out of taking the 4Runner up it since I was still on street tires, so we walked up. Made a mental note to come back. Now that I have better tires, I didn't have any excuses. Nothing too technical for those experienced (and the pictures make it look less intimidating then it was), but fun for me and Max. Hung out for a couple hours enjoying the peace and quiet.

Opened up about a month or so ago. About 2 miles from my house.

 

Just foolin around in the desert ​

 

Drove it to work, company truck is in the shop. I hate putting miles on my 4runner for things I don't like doing.

 

Enjoyed a little trail ride last week, the 2.5 DSCs proved their worth...nice being able to adjust the dampening on the trail. Swaybar disconnects may be next.



Then drove over to the coast to wash off the trail dust and mud and to cool off since it's already in the upper 80s - low 90s up in the mountains!
