Yeah, definitely miss him. Only singer / songwriter that could make you laugh and cry in the same song. He helped a lot of new artists get their break. Got to meet him once after the show, most gracious guy I’ve ever met.

Removed running boards, added CaliRaised cat covers, Bilstein 5100's on all 4 corners, with .85 lift in front. Hard to tell in the pics, but in person, it looks great, and level now. Ordered RCI aluminum front skid, and low profile sliders.

Did you use the stock springs, or did you upgrade those?

It almost never rains in Phoenix, but for some reason the rare times I wash the 4R we get some rain or a dust storm despite the forecast showing clear for the following few days

I had already done the Trail Grid Pro plug and play Kicker speakers, but today had the Kicker amp (and required components) installed. Holy cow, what a difference! The factory radio is vastly under-powered, and pushing some more power to those Kickers really lets them shine. Huge, huge improvement over stock.

I’ve read so many conflicting messages on different sites concerning the black lug nuts. Do the Toyota black lug nuts fit on the 5th Gen with the Pro wheels?

    Hit 125,000 recently.

Needed to do the brakes (for the second time) so I did that today. Rotors and pads.

    Changed the oil last weekend.

Still need to do the spark plugs. I have everything I need, but I've been procrastinating.

Got my ditch lights aimed properly. Now the wall of light includes low beams, high beams, DD SS3 Pro driving pattern in the fog location, and Rigid DSS Pro spot pattern all coming on with the high beams

    Oooh look, another mod.....
What did I do to my 4Runner today?

.....I stalked it, using the Apple Air Tag that's hidden in it. The shop STILL has it! I'm not sure what's stronger, my hatred for the rental car they gave me, or my love for my SloRunner?

This took me a couple of days but I finished my home built drawer system, which includes a space for my power inverter, the power connection for my fridge, 110 outlets, USB-C and USB ports, and tie down points. I also got my ecoflow 500W alternator installed.IMG_7831.jpg IMG_7838.jpg

    Oooh look, another mod.....

    Here's the link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CWXNS552?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

You can buy them in packs of 1, 2, 4 or more. I only need one, but the more you buy, the more you save. When researching how & where to hide this the internet gave me some recommendations.

    1) Buy 2 and hide one in an obvious spot and one in a very hard spot. They recommended this because the Air Tag's have speakers inside them and when you're trying to find one, it gives off a "Beep". Thieves can also find them with their iPhones and then toss them before stealing your vehicle.
    2) Buy 1 but disable the speaker. You can do this by taking the Air Tag apart (carefully) and disconnecting the wires. I didn't want to do this because A) I messed up the first time I did it and had to order a new one and B) I want to be able to locate my Air Tag when it's time to change out the battery. The shelf life of the battery is about 1yr.

You can hide the Air Tag in a plethora of easy places like: Glovebox, center console, under the seats, in the center stack cubby area, etc... You could hide it in a very hard spot to find and get to, but you'd have to partially take apart the dash, center console or other areas.

I chose a middle ground: I bought one Air Tag and kept the speaker enabled. First I had it wrapped in a small hand towel (to muffle the sound), then I stuffed that in a big freezer zip lock bag and put duct tape around that bag. Then I hid it in one of my Molle Panel bags.

But I moved it while my 4Runner is in the shop (because I took all my stuff out before dropping it off). It's still in that same zip lock bag, but I poked a hole in that bag and moved it to the cargo area. If you remove the panel on the left (to get to the light or jack), there's an bracket in there. I zipped tied the bag (by running it through that hole) to that bracket so it doesn't move and it's hard to spot/remove.

I know this isn't a fault-less solution for auto theft. Far from it. This just slows down thieves if they want to steal it, or if they do I can easily track it and recover my 4Runner.

Other great uses for Air Tags are:

    1) Putting one in the purse or wallet of an eldery person who wanders off and has dementia.
    2) Putting one on the collar of a pet that is an escape artist!
    3) Putting one on your keychair if you're ALWAYS losing those keys.
    4) Putting one in your luggage while you travel. No more lost bags!

The best part of this is, the Air Tag works by bouncing a signal off another iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch or other Apple Product. Since there are a few billion Apple Products floating around, there's a good chance someone will walk by the Air Tag with it, and that Air Tag will update its location.
