I had installed a JVC multi media player from crutchfield with Maestro & plug and play harnesses

    https://www.amazon.com/JVC-KW-M788BH-Touchscreen-Bluetooth-iDatalink/dp/B0B7QM64LM

After having that setup for about 1+ years, I really can't stand the lack of internal navigation nor the large footprint of missing real estate and lack of volume knob.

So I have went ahead and purchased a Dynavin D9-V7 unit, which has a internal navi and volume knob, a large overall fitment (although same size) and a good customer service rep. I have been using their navi devices for the last 12-13 years in my other vehicles and have had zero issues in terms of reliability and function/use.

With a 3V pre-out for front , rear and subwoofer - i should have no issue connecting to amp for sound.

I assume my biggest hurdle to tackle will be trying to source connectors and trying to maintain steering wheel controls, i look forward to the challenge.

I did like how Maestro/JVC was able to tap into the ODB reader and provide me with psi readings, voltage and code readout capability.

Will be using a black trim that will have to modify.

Anyway this will be updated again once I receive the unit.

So thanks to a 2013 jetta at the junkyard I've sourced a connector in order to tie in to 4runner harness.

Ther is basically only 4 wires to figure out - hot at all times, hot ignition, illumination and dimmer.

Ill be splicing into the aftermarket harness to keep 4runner harness intact..

The radio is weird because ours is a single and the dynavin accepts two.. so maybe no radio for a while.. doesnt matter as I never use radio

I've mocked up the unit into the plastic trim.. it's ok. I will have to reach out to a 3d printing friend and maybe purchase a whole new fitment to try and Install it from behind (as now I've just directly drilled into the plastic)

Since I will be using RCA connectors to connect directly to amp, I've removed the unused portion within the connector.

That's all for now, ill be working on this over thr week and will update again.

    I'm abandoning Install

Wasn't that hard except lost function of steering wheel as expected.

The unit itself is awesome... but i guess I still yearning for the oem look so gonna keep eyes on the marketplace for an upgrade.

    Edif:::

    Installed a daisata unit
Install not bad, had to switch csmers wires per instructions and used a nut and bolt to attach ground.
With volume on and phone connected, it made strange radio signals so I return the units
