New to the forum! 2024 4R ORP with 6,200 miles, left rear side behind driver makes a click noise when I press the brake. I’ve never noticed it before. Anyone have an idea on what it can be before I take it in to Toyota? Has anyone had this issue? If so, what’s the fix? Thanks!

its under warranty, take it back and have them look at it. Are you new to owning a 4Runner? I was and yes the 4runner makes some noises that you may think are weird but totally normal. However, in this case we are talking braking, take it in

Probably brake pad shifting in the caliper, meaning you'll likely be out $120-150 on diagnostic fee when you take it to the dealer for them to tell you it's normal.

Phone dealer first to confirm it will be a no fee examination.

I don't get, though I personally have never tried, why dealer service departments would even think about charging a diagnostic fee for a vehicle under factory warranty. Out of warranty, I get it, but otherwise, it doesn't make sense.

Is it just so they can charge you if they decide there's "nothing wrong"?

Yeah, this is exactly it. Seems like a weird conflict interest, and it sucks to be charged even after they say they can’t replicate it.

Yep that's how Toyota dealers have been operating for a while. Toyota doesn't reimburse dealers for diagnostic time for warranty repairs.
