Nope. As the paint scrapes off it looks pretty bad.

If you don't have RWL, why have tires at all.

Quit hitting curbs, and it won't be an issue.

I've done white letters in for as long as I can remember, but some of these pics are making me reconsider. Next time I think I'll go with white letters out, I think it'll look good with my undergound with black wheels. It's gonna be a while though.

Think I’ll be upgrading these to some KO3’s with the white lettering out, will make them pop! The question is 265 or 275…

I have outlined white lettering on my 3rd gen (Yokohama geolandars), it works on old vehicles because white lettering is old fashioned. Still can look good on new vehicles too.

There is a right way and a wrong way to do white lettering. The right way to do white lettering is to stick a slab of white rubber on the sidewall and cover everything that isn't lettering with black rubber, this method shouldn't be susceptible to being washed off. The wrong way to do it is to paint it.

Embedded white letters wont rub off, but it can become an unintentional white wall if you curb off the black rubber, painted will take even less abuse.

I know BFgoodrich does it the right way because I've seen a cross section of their tire. Cooper also does it the right way because I've seen the phenomena above in person which happens if you curb them too much and it exposes the slab of white rubber. Toyo I'm pretty sure does it the right way, a rep said a weight difference between OWL and black sidewall tires was from the lighter weight of the white rubber. Hopefully no brand tries painting it on.

People do know. Doesn't make them any less stupid on a 4R.

    Oooh look, another mod.....

The natural color of rubber is white or a milky white when it's fresh, in the form of latex. After processing and curing, it can turn various colors, but the original latex is white.

I've used KO2's for years. Always black side out.

Never white letters out. It was cool back in the 80's.

I would go white letters out if my choice of tire had the option.
