lets talk pedal commanders and tunes

At 287k I am happy with the current power and acceleration I get with my current setup. It’s a 4wd SUV not a race car. It get’s me from point “A” to point “B” fast enough. I am not trying anything with this motor until it quits, then I will decide what’s next.

 

I have both the OTT and the throttle pedal device Ultimate9 evcX on my 2022 TRD Off Road. I didn’t get the throttle device to improve response, but have tried it out a few times. Slamming your foot on the accelerator and using a throttle device (at least this one) does not have the same outcome (not sure why people continue with this f-ing debate based on opinion and not facts). However I only got mine as an additional layer of defence from theft, since I can remotely disable any throttle input.

I got the OTT a year later (last summer), and went for the mild version of it (the mid level was too aggressive for my driving style). I was mainly interested in getting rid of the transmission hunting for slight hills. I got the tune before a long road trip (Toronto to Tuktoyaktuk - Arctic Ocean, 14,000km / 8,700mile round trip), and it made using cruise control relaxing. I actually got (and am getting) better fuel efficiency. With a roof top tent, 2” lift, RCI trans/cat/diff plates, front steel bumper/winch, 12v fridge/drawer set up, 65 lbs batter pack, awning mounted on passenger side, I was getting 16L/100kms before the tune. For my trip I avg 14.5L/100 kms, so my fuel savings alone paid for almost half the tune just on that single trip.

 

I bought a Sprint Booster from Burtman Industries before tunes were available thru VFt...it's been great for 40k miles without a single hiccup...now that tunes can be had, I might consider as I use VFt for my supercharged tundra...it's good to hear the CC can finally work without gear hunting while at speed. The SB doesn't increase power, but makes it feel like a 2stroke, in throttle response... I've only rad negative associated to the PC, which tundra users are also running from more and more...

 

I got so many god damn things on my rig, that I can't even tell anymore which ones works or which gives the most impact to this thread question!
Ok,seriously, I do see the benefit on the PC, it does what it advertised to begin with. It has several settings so you are not giving it all the way on the gas all the time. It is sensitive to gas consumption too, I tested this on a long trip. I also gained benefits (huge) from the OTT tune, this was very considerable for me, I got the mild setting. But again, I got so much shit going on, I got 488's and also a maggie. So I'm probably not the guy to listen to on this one. And with all that $hit I got, I still feel like .

So my opinion don't count on this one OP. Please keep reading notes from others. I'm sure I will get from the fellow runners here.
