Hi I have a 1992 Toyota 4Runner 4x4 automatic. I can’t get my speedometer to work. So at first I replaced it with cheap A premium speed sensor and that worked for about a week then stopped working. Got CEL for code 42. So then I replaced the speed sensor(VSS) in the transfer case with a Toyota OEM sensor and that didn’t do anything. So I figured it must be the cluster it self. I sent that out to get rebuild, put it back in the truck. It worked for 115 miles then stopped again. Got another CEL for code 42. Any idea on what it could be. Possibly a bad ECM?
