Does your phone indicate that the call is being sent through the car’s bluetooth?

Sometimes I can pick up and my phone switches away from the 4Runner’s radio for some reason.

Any other details you left out?

Try getting on a test call with something/someone and maybe play with the volume controls on your phone, headunit, make sure that the call is not being sent to your phone’s receiver, etc.
