    Hello All,
I wanted to ask opinions: I have a 23 TRD Trail Premium that has a 2.5-3" Toytec front strut spacer and the 1.5" rear coil spacer also. I really don't like the "soft or top heavy" feel of the suspension during daily driving. Is it even worth it to replace the rea with lift springs or lift rear shock and swap the factory front with equivalent height lift lift springs or keep factory shocks but replace springs themselves. My apologies for lengthy post. No KDSS. No hard driving, 285/70R17 KO3 or Nitto Ridge Grappler's will be put on within the month. Freedom Offroad UCA's ordered this AM.
    Thanks All!!!

    Welcome, great looking wagon.

There’s a lot of info on Suspension lifts, and it really depends on your budget

Welcome from Wisconsin! I started doing research on suspension for the 4Runners 4 1/2 years ago, it changes frequently. IMO, you would be better off to buy a spring/shock combo. If you replace front springs that actually give you the amount of lift you have now, it might give you a choppy ride, or worse destroy the stock shocks. We had a spacer lift when we started out, I guess to see if we liked the stance, etc. But going to a aftermarket shock package will increase the ride quality greatly, decreasing body roll, the top heavy feeling you're talking about, and nose dive on braking. Several manufacturers have the right package for you. Talk to the experts, tell them what you want to achieve, when you make the decision, ask other drivers if they have the package you're looking at, see how they like it, and get the checkbook ready! Good luck.

    ^This.

I would recommend getting away from the spacer lift. Springs for lift, shocks for control.
Do some research on what you might want. Bilstein has some great options though.

    Morning,
I wanted to update - I ordered the Eibach Pro Truck Lift Stage 2 kit (I really wanted coilovers) this morning. It was a great price w/ 15% discount. Also, I have a Toyota guy (I was 19 yrs toyota) that recommends the Freedom Offroad UCA's because the ball joint is a Toyota OEM parts version and he'll end up doing all of the work . And I gotta say - I like that pricing of the Freedom UCA's. I'll order tires tomorrow - Toyota has Buy 3 Get 1 special right now, those tire plans have changed - either BFG's K03 or Nitto Terra Grappler G3 275/70R17 - I just don't think I can keep the 285's from rubbing.
Thanks again - pics once all complete - SC!!

Freedom Offroad UCA's arrived yesterday - just waiting on the Eibach Stage 2 kit to arrive. Tires are still up in the air I haven't pulled trigger on the yet.

The Eibach Pro Truck Stage 2 kit arrived last Friday. I took a stab at it myself after watching 17 million videos and speaking with a few Toyota Techs I still was still blessed to be in contact with. I got it done eventually - and here's my next question. I'm looking at the Falken Wildpeak A/T 4 but a 255/80R17 (narrower, but taller) or 285/70R17 is my only delima. Front coilovers not adjusted at all - installed right out of the box. Rear springs were installed w/out the 1" spacer that was old springs.
I'm looking to get a tad bit more overall lift.
Has anybody added the spacer to the rear springs and adjusted front coilovers another 6 total turns on adjustable coilovers? Thoughts on 255/80R17's?

My apologies for this jumbled up post - I'm running between calls at the time!!

You could turn the coilovers up or add
.25" or .5" top hat spacers in the front and 1" spacer in the rear. adding aftermarket bump stops and making sure they are the right height. Also extended rear brake lines.

    Latest Update:
After installing the new Eibach suspension parts, I went ahead and re-installed the rear coil spacers that were on the factory springs and I am extremely satisfied with the height and the ride. I adjusted the front coilovers to accommodate to new rear height and I then measured the distance from where tire contacts ground to fender well.
*Drivers Front: 38.75" - (with full tank of gas)
    *Passenger Front: 39.25"
    *Drivers Rear: 40.0"
    *Passenger Rear: 40.5
I am very accepting of these because its not off that much.
I ended up installing a set of 285/70R17 Nitto Terra Grappler G3's - I wanted a good looking tire but I don't get off the pavement too much right now, so I felt the Nitto Ridge Grapplers would be kinda noisy. I don't have any rubbing but a 255/80R17 (Very close at full lock) or a 285/75R17 would have caused rubbing issues for sure.

    Thanks everyone!!
