    Hello,
    I just discovered this forum…
    My name is Lance.
    I live in Napa, California.

I recently purchased a 2020 SR5 Premium, and I love it. I bought certified preowned from a dealer.
It’s very clean. Honestly, it’s the first vehicle I’ve had that really liked in decades.

The only thing I’ve added is an interior molle rack/shelf in the back.
I did buy a foam mattress pad for the back and a nice sleeping bag.

Oh, I did also get a dog hammock for the back seat. My filthy 80lb German shepherd mix loves to go for rides.

I’m a complete novice to the world of off-roading. I’m sure I will have many question, but I will try the search function first.

I used the search function today…

I bought VIAIR 400P-A EF 12volt compressor and the 7-pin connector.

I discovered that the 7-pin trailer connector is protected by a 30A fuse in the vehicle.
The air compressor is listed at max current of 30A, yet has a 40A fuse installed on its power cable.

it seems that this compressor is at the limit of the 4Runner’s 7-pin connector.

Is it foolish to utilize this (seemingly) very convenient connection?
    What if I replace the compressor’s 40A fuse with a 30A?

I looked deeper into the specs of the 400P-A EF and found that at 50lbs of pressure it will draw 25A. According to the dashboard my tires are running about 40lbs typically.

It seems the 7-pin power connector should work fine for my needs. I feel confident it should work without issue.
