I've had my 4Runner a couple of months. Steering is a little loose. It's had some work previous to me. I saw a post on FB about a "steering relay recall", can anyone fill me in on this?

    Recall from 20 years ago(?)

Involves a fatigue failure of some steering component.

Doubt they’ll still have the pertinent part in production personally and/or would do it for free but you can ask.

I don’t think it’s necessarily the cause of your issue though. It’s a truck that is surely older than some members here after all.

You can plug in your VIN to see if there are any open recalls.

Technically recalls never expire. You will need to run your vin at a dealer. But if it comes up that the recall has never been done, try and schedule the recall.
