Anyone running stoptech steel Brake lines? Anyone know the overall length for stock replacement? Everything i have read from comments in the sales sections, is they are 7-8.5" long. Sales reps say "stock replacement for 2018 4Runner" but no length. Measuring my stock line is 12", leaving just a bit of slack at full drop with the Eibach coil overs. I have a set of extended steel that measure 14", but after installing one there is to much slack in the line and will rub on the frame where the bump stops mount. I would like to find a 12" steel braided kit for the front.

I purchased the SDHQ lines sometime back for my 2016 TRD Pro and have yet to install them. I looked at the Stoptech lines as well but chose SDHQ because I know they sell quality products.

I plan to get around to it one day. They are quality extended SS braided lines. I heard that the front lines do not need that much extension over stock unless you're running a lift higher than 3". These lines are .75" over stock length for the front and 2" over stock length for the back.

Why not make your own, to the length you need?

Those look like the ones i have (picked them up years ago), but my front lines are 2" over stock. Interesting.

Stock length is 290mm or 11.4".

This link says the Stoptech line is 1.5" shorter than stock: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/stoptech-s-s-braided-brake-lines-too-short.664316/

Stoptech lines are targeted toward the sports car crowd for improving pedal feel. They aren't intended for lifted applications.

I'll have to try and find mine in storage. I'll take a quick measurement to see what length they come out to.

You can also hit https://www.crownperformance.com and see what they say.

SDHQ may be able to get you the exact length of their lines over the phone as well.

FYI the Wheelers lines are also 11.5" long stock replacement, so don't buy them: (my own measurement, ran these on my previous truck)

All-Pro lines are 16.7" long, meant for their LT kit, so don't buy those either.

Idk about the 4runner but I know when I swapped out the ones on my motorcycle for steel braided, it made a world of difference

I got this exact SDHQ set, may I say VERY VERY nice. However, I didn't realize that the rear brakes actually need 4 lines, 2 center line above the pumpkin, and 2 outers from hardlines at the axel to the caliper. So really, the 4runner needs 6 braided brake lines total (4 in rear, and 2 in front), first time I have seen this sort of thing.

The SDHQ set mentioned above only includes the rear center line and front lines. I'm struggling to find any braided lines that are for the rear outers (from axel to rear caliper). I've seen some suggestions on having custom made, but surely this isn't an out of the ordinary need.

Has anyone actually had custom braided lines for the rear calipers made and installed them?

I found these rear outers, but it says up to 2022 4runner (need 2023), I don't think they changed anything in 23 so these would prob work?

^Yes these will work. Aftermarket vendors are often slow to update their application data. Some will say -2022, some say -2023, some even say -2020. Maybe two years from now we'll see them update to -2024 lol. Centric (parent company of Stoptech) stock replacement lines say 2003-2023, for example:

Awesome, thanks for the insight! I figured it was an outdated description.
