OK, I've been lurking on the forum for a while, and I really appreciate all the information posted. So many really great ideas for enjoying our 4runners!

I like to think I'm not that new to 4 wheeling, but really it's not so much. We picked up our 5th gen in March '17 and it now has over 35,000 mi. on it, mostly on the highway. But that's what I like about it, it's relatively comfortable to drive on the highway, but it's more than sufficiently capable to get off-pavement and enjoy that too.

My wife and I decided to visit Alaska in '17(celebrating a significant anniversary) and we wanted to drive. We decided our 4runner is the way to do it. Shortly before starting out, we decided to take a small travel trailer:

A few years ago, we traveled with a tent, but that wasn't going to work now. We had a great time, so much that we'd like to go back, the sooner the better.
On the way back, we visited Glacier NP(lots of smoke in late August/2017):

I'm in mid-Michigan, but often visit family in eastern VA, and got to visit the National Forests in VA, WV, NC and TN on 3 occasions last year. I'd really like to re-visit SE Utah and CO's mountains before long too.
