Are tariff price stickers showing up on dealer lots now?

So, I haven’t been to my local Toyloda dealer lately to see for myself- Are tariff price stickers showing up now on new vehicles on dealer lots now, or not? For such vehicles as 4Runners, Land Cruisers, RAV4s, Tacomas, etc.?

I suppose I could call my saleslady and ask her, but then, I really don’t want to bug her about it. Sales people probably have enough B S on their plates right now.

… glad I’m not in the market for a new vehicle right now. A tariff cost of thousands of dollars would be a deal breaker for me. Vehicle prices are already ludicrously too high as it is. To think of thousands of dollars in tariffs added to a vehicle's price on top of sticker is total insanity.

….that’s alright- just keep on breaking the backs of the American consumer.

Prices are high, this may be Japan's way of countering the tariff, then when the tariff is actually in effect they will do nothing... making them look good. Could be, really don't know, just speculation.

That’s one way to look at it, but there is another view of what the tariffs will do.

TCP is always higher than most. But at least one thing positive, they advertise their mark ups above MSRP on the website so you can make your decision to pass them up without being blindsided. They are like any other stealership tho.

The official response has varied widely from different automakers. Some shipments are stopped (wait for something to settle?), some are going to just eat the difference (for now, I think that’s Toyota), etc.

But given the trouble even getting said tax implemented plus flip-flopping it’s gonna be murky.

We bought our 4Runner in 2022, so, it will be years before we buy anything new. We tend to keep our vehicles for over 20 years. We just sold our truck that we bought new in 1997, and we still have and drive our 2013 CRV. The CRV has 335,000 miles on it.

Its more like the American way. Bump MSRP so you can discount now and when tariffs start discount it less, if at all.

Just got a letter from my dealership begging me to trade my 4Runner in for a new one, basically offering what I bought it for 5 years ago towards a new one. lol

They shouldn't those vehicles are Pre-Tariff. If they are I think that dealership is hosing the buyer & pocking that extra $$$:notsure:

Prices were already up. My 19 TRDP was 42 new but they were 52 by the end of the run.

I am trying to stay out of the politics, but it's pretty easy to see what the goal is of them, and what the hoped the results will produce. Is it the right approach, or will it work, those are the real questions.

Good thing prices had stayed stably low since 2021 and didn't get major hikes until now. Right?

get out of the big cities and wealthy suburbs and take a drive through small towns and former industrial heartland of the midwest and southeast, and you will see the "other view"

I think we agree, I hate big Cities and how they think they know what's best for the entire Country.

Seriously glad/not glad my Tacoma was wrecked at the right time before the price hikes. The Pro Bro was 50-52 then as well. All the extra tech crap people wanted in the Runner also drove up the cost.

Heck even big metro areas have large swaths of downtrotten areas that used to make and transport things. Now much of the urban areas are largely floated by public assistance, health care and government jobs(few and far in between) and gig/service work for young people who were told to "learn to code" and now finding coding can be done from anywhere in the world.

newer 4R buyers don't usually live in those areas though.
