Traded the 4Runner yesterday, if you're in New England, it should be for sale at the Ford dealer in South Portland Maine soon. Don't expect a deal, based on what they gave me, they're probably going to ask around what it cost new. Fn TRD PRo wheels, Greenlane sliders. It's in good shape, ~44500 miles.

I know people want 5th gen more than 6th gen right now.

Shit on me all you want, reality is competition makes everyone better and sometimes needs change. Right now a truck is more useful to me.

Glad you got good trade in $ for it.
Vehicles are tools and we have to have the one that does what we need it to do.
What did you go with? F150, Super duty, Ranger?
I know folks like to crap on Ford but they make some good vehicles, everyone I have ever had has been solid.

F150 Tremor with the 5.0 V8. Employee pricing knocked a good chunk off the price.

Very nice! I’ve had 2 with the coyote in it and it’s a great engine! Sounds awesome too. Enjoy it man!

I traded my 22' ORP 4R in at a Ford Dealer on a new Raptor (F150) last summer. 6 weeks later I ended up selling the Raptor and buying a new '24 ORP 4R.

Same here. Bought a 2016 F150 with the 3.5 Ecoboost new. To date it is approaching 80,000 miles and has been absolutely trouble free.

You enjoyed the heck out of your 'Yota. I've got a '23 ORP that has 7,500 miles, averaging 500 miles a month and its my daily. Replaced a '21 F-150 FX4 with the 2.7T, was a great truck.

I would live one of these. No hard feelings at all on the trade in. Those interiors are soooo nice. Just a wonderful truck to drive and ride in. I have a few friends with new F150's. Awsome vehicles.

    Congrats!

I've "rescued" 2 Tacomas from a Ford dealer. Unfortunately, too much monies this time......

Congratulations on the new ride. I saw a 21 ORP at my Ford dealer this weekend. I’ve seen a few there actually.

I’d love a F150 but it would suck up so much of my garage it’s ridiculous. I could get two cars in and walk sideways each time.

I’ve been liking that 2.7 V6 Ranger I think it looks sharp and the reviews are great. I have not researched recalls or issues.

I will say the this though the videos of the Ford V6 six versus the 4 turbo Taco that Ford definitely sounds a lot more masculine and less ratchety and more refined in my opinion. Maybe it’s just me getting older but V6 just sounds like a lot better.

Too bad they cant put 5.0 in in the Ranger so I could fit it in the garage

There are a few videos on YouTube comparing the mid size trucks, Ford seems to get picked over the Tacoma every time.

Yeah I’ve watched a few very interesting for sure. It’s amazing to me how many 2024 models of Rangers, F150s are sitting on my local Ford lots. It’s April and they still have these 2024 units crazy

There seems to be a lot of unsold Tacomas on lots. There are 49 2024's here in St. Louis with some having mark ups. There are also 3 used 2024 Tacomas here and they are cheaper than used 2023's with the same packages.

...and Toyota trucks aren't looking too good nowadays. Dealers have tons of trucks because of the lost confidence.

The Car Care Nut YouTube Channel took one of those new V6 Turbos apart on a new video. Not good.

Had a '15 with the V8 before the 4Runner, 160k miles without issues.

Well, I checked the site to see if it was listed yet. They're asking $51,554 for it. I think MSRP was $48,686 or something like that.

Good news for you guys, apparently right now you have an appreciating asset.

Technology overload. It was like driving a computer. Pure video game experience. Constant software updates. Vampire battery drain. Digital/electronic everything. Confusing controls buried multiple layers deep in the touchscreen.

Also the girth of it... I've owned 4 crewmax Tundras and the Raptor still felt huge to me. My wife refused to drive it (and she drives a 1/2 ton Silverado as her daily).

    Even my dogs hated it.

And that's exactly why I didn't buy a new Bronco. EVERYTHING is electronic and controlled by a computer. ALL of which will cause problems sooner rather than later.
How'd you like to see this pop up on your dash....right when you really need 4wd?

Yep, the first week I had the Raptor I started getting alerts about when the truck was going to be unavailable to drive due to pending software update(s). I happen to live in an area with little to no cell phone coverage (that the truck relies on for communication with the Ford mother ship) and I immediately realized what a nightmare it was going to be. It was also telling me the brand new battery needed to be charged because the truck drained it while trying to connect all night to receive a SW update.

You guys are definitely scaring me off the new 2025 V6 Ranger. I am assuming much of the same tech is on that screen and dash. It’s too bad that V6 seems like a quick little pickup

Anything you buy new is going to be packed full of electronics. Far as I can tell, automatic updates can be turned off but I have not really looked into it a whole lot yet.

That's why I scrambled to find a new '24 4R instead of just going to the Lexus dealer and buying a new GX OT.
