97 4Runner limited

Hey y’all I recently replaced my transfer case which is the beginning gif a journey to get my 4wd working again. The swap went fairly smooth but after testing it two things happened. When my transfer case is in neutral it engages my 4wd which didn’t happen before and I can’t imagine that’s right. Also when I’m stopped but my transmission is in drive my car shakes not super violently but enough to make me grit my teeth. Any help would be super appreciated.
