My dad was a 30 plus year ASE Certified Toyota mechanic in Missouri. So naturally I drive Toyotas because if I have an issue I just ask him. I remember putting on chains on our front wheel drive Tercel hatchback in the snow.
Dad has had every generation of 4Runner over the years but the removable top gen was really cool.
He was always bringing cars home that customers requested the dealer to drive to find out what was wrong. The mr2 was a pretty awesome 2 seater car. I drove a Celica for college averaging 160-200 miles a day. My first car was a brown 1987 Toyota Corolla. In November me and my son was headed up to Montana for a mule deer hunt and we got into a snow storm and slide into an overpass totaling my 08 Tacoma. Broke a couple ribs but came out ok on the deal. Now I have a Toyota 4Runner for the first time. My son drive a 04 Tacoma and my wife drives a 2015 sequoia. Before that had Camrys and 08 and 04 highlanders. I definitely look for Japanese made vehicles and buy them if I can. Dad always said the seat cousins are denser and last longer and the paint is better due to less epa restrictions. Definitely learned that on my Tacoma the paint peeled so bad on that truck.
    Happy about my latest purchase.
I am a cnc machinist/gunsmith and love shooting long range.
