    Buying a 2000 4Runner Limited this week. Father/daughter project for my 16yo.

    235k on the clock.

First order of business is fixing the parasitic drain. Will run fine after a jump. Will not restart immediately after turning off. Will test battery and alternator, then fuses and relays next. Rear hatch window power is dead too. I'll check the harness where it bends out of the body to the door. Many hands have touched it, but I have a decent idea of a few suspect areas of interest.

The rest is bringing it back and making it a safe runner. IMG_9379.jpg

Welcome. Alternator brushes may need replaced. $20 for the brush holder assembly, and very easy to replace once the alternator is in your hand. They generally wear out at 200k+ miles.
