Attention 4R limited owners, this question is for you. Or anyone that knows.

Im considering swapping on the 17” rim from a 2022 trd off road 4R with 265/70/17 tires.

Can this be done without rubbing? Stock height, and not planning to lift anytime soon. Figure this has to be a common swap for Limited owners since there aren’t many tire options in the stock 20” rim.

Any insight from Limited owners? appreciated it
    Cheers

    None yet.
Very common swap and look great when done. Stock height and suspension at 185k miles, never rubbed. And you don’t have to worry about speedo correction as the size overall diameter is within .01 I believe. IMG_8178.jpg

Kings, Crestone Rack, Baja S8, Baja Fogs, Baja XL80s, Baja mini cubes, SPOD, ARB compressor, RCI full skids, ROAM box and stuff. ST Pros. Shrockworks sliders... GOAT armour
I have a 2021 Limited and a 2016 Limited. My lovely 20s sit on the rack. I have the following

    265/70/17 K02s ATs
    265/70/17 K03s ATs
    265/70/17 Cooper ST Pro MTs
    265/70/17 Blizzak DMV snows

Rub will depend on offset of rim. My K02s rubbed abit with one rim, no rub with snows on another rim, no rub with K03s or Pros. Get the right offset, but alittle use of a heat gun will likely cure any minor wheel rub on inside of fender skirt.. its so basic to do.

Wow yea good call the trd OR rims do look great with the limited. Shame on myself for not looking into this sooner!

I assume 265/70/r17 is largest tire to go without immediate rub? What size are you guys running

I'm with a lift so might not help 100%.
Tires I have are 285/70R17. This tire size is the reason I used TRD Offroad wheels as they are approved to run 285s vs TRD Pro wheels are not approved to run 285s. I preferred to keep the OEM look so didn't try aftermarket.

Uh oh. A "what's the biggest size tire can I fit without rubbing" thread, disguised as an "I'd like to see TRD wheels on my Limited"...you're caught! ;)

I’m finally doing it after 10 years on the 20’s. Saw some TRD 17’s on Extreme Terrrain — the center badge is blacked out but that’s fine because my Limited is also blacked out. At 16 mm offset on the 17’s, it is only 1 mm different than the 20’s. I had just settled on 255/75R17’s for the tires but reading this, looks like I may have to move up on the width! I switched out the x-reas when it started leaking last year for 5100’s set at 1.75” on front and with 1” spacers on the rear, so I shouldn’t have any problems. Only problem is the matte black wheels are on back order and I can’t get them now.
