What music are you listening to while working on your 5th Gen 4R today?
For those of us old enough remember the pre-streaming days, name some albums that were good all the way through. You know, back when you had to put the record on the machine, play the whole side, flip it over and listen to the entire 2nd side. There was no skipping or editing or fast forwarding. So it was always cool to find an album with no clunkers on it.

I actually liked pretty much all of Elton John's Yellow Brick Road album, too.

 

I grew up with cassettes and CD's.

There are very few albums where I don't skip anything. A few that come to mind are:

Spin Doctors: "Pocket Full of Kryptonite "

Primus: "Frizzle Fry"

Paul Simon: "Graceland"

 

As a millennial i feel triggered i wasnt included in the title and that I didnt get a participation trophy.

Lot of Nine Inch Nails and In Flames though.

Ton of 90s stuff. And 80s

 

Just look up the 60s & 70s and you'll see what I listened to....which was everything.

Right. But even with cassettes you had to turn the damn things over...

 

Was a godsend when manufacturers started making cassette players with auto reverse!

 

Not if your deck had auto-reverse!

Cassette tapes that would flip sides automatically to play the "other side of the album" certainly increased listing to the whole album while working.

Big Pink Floyd and Rush fan so definitely many of there albums. But Tom Petty Full Moon Fever, not only had every song in the top 10 but had a nod to people who still played on records, weather played on CD or Tape.

The Wall and Dark side i probably played from beginning to end the most.

 

Man, there are at least 15 albums named on here already that I've never heard, or never hear of.

 

Another obscure but great album. Bastille Day, lake side park, truly great, and i personally really liked the Necromancer. Big D&D fan at the time.

I thought about the Trower for my opening entry but then went with another 3 man band.

 

Jackson Browne, John Prine, Johnny Winter, Mountain and Lynyrd Skynyrd. I know, it's an odd mix.

 

Frampton Comes Alive. Best live album ever.

AC/DC 'Back in Black'

We listened to this album so many times from start to finish that now when I hear "Shoot to Thrill" or "You Shook Me All Night Long" on the radio I expect "What Do You Do for Money Honey" or "Have a Drink on Me" to play next. Good times.

 

I'm going to try to post all of these suggestions in the first post so we have a nice little playlist...but I fear it is going to get out of hand in a hurry.

 

Since all the cool ones are taken already, how about an instrumental? Bonus points if you remember which Movie side 2 was used in.
