The “flu” virus everyone is getting has some side effects that aren’t mentioned. I was driving to work when I had a fever spike and began coughing hard. (Should have stayed home) I then started feeling strange and had the rush sound in my ears. I immediately knew I was passing out and started moving over to stop but I blacked out completely.
It is definitely a miracle because I missed several very large obstaclesIMG_0611.jpg IMG_9416.jpg as I crashed through a small tree, stop sign, and a light pole. Those large obstacles were brand new Hyundais on a car lot. The shop said I definitely went airborne before hitting the tree due to suspension damage.
The doctor said it was cough syncope from RSV and had already caused several accidents in our area. I had zero injuries and was diagnosed with pneumonia. The hardest part was letting my black beauty go and having to dispute the valuation report because insurance companies are crooks. The good news is that getting another one happened quickly.

If you were destined to crash anyway you could have at least taken out a few new Hyundais with you!

Thank god you're ok!! They are tanks. And the viruses going around are a real bitch this year, we just got over it (first we had stomach flu - lasted 7 straight days, then right after what I am assuming is the Influenza A/B strain which lasted 3 whole weeks). Ugh.

The timing of this post is ironic and JUST this morning I was scrolling through FB reels, and saw a video of VW's technology that detects a driver becoming unconscious, and takes over, and eventually pulls the car over automatically. I thought it was VERY cool.

My black 4r is on its way to copart unfortunately
I think I jumped over a road after looking at the scene closer. I asked the two dealerships if they had footage and they didn’t because the cameras don’t work. Seriously? Free nissans and hyundais?

Getting over a 2 week case of bronchitis. On a nebulizer w/ steroids and medication. Very hard to breathe, can't clear the junk in my tube and persistent dry cough.

On the bright side only put 15 miles on "Old Hoss" in the last two weeks...

Yeah, I know, but I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired so I'm in "Grasping at straws" mode now...

    Nobody's stealing those :D

Not sure if this was a national thing but here in Detroit about 20 years ago, Kia's and Hyundais used to be "Buy one, get one free" at some dealers...LOL. No joke.

Glad you made it through that. That’s terrifying. And thanks for the PSA on how quickly things get out of hand when you’re not feeling right! All these new flu variants make it really hard to tell how it’s gonna hit you.
