LFD Crossbars and Case Systems

Anyone carrying cases via LFD’s crossbars on the factory rails? I’d like to throw all my recovery and inflation gear into a small case on the roof but haven’t seen any clean ways to mount a case on the LFD crossbars. Ideally a mounting system where I can easily pull the case off when not in use.

 

Been eyeing their stainless steel crossbars (in black) with the integrated fairing. Much cleaner looking than the factory cross bars plus already drilled for MaxTrax pins for my traction boards.

 

Best I can think of is to drill appropriate holes in said case. Use carriage bolts inserted from the underside and use wing nuts/washers on the inside to secure.

 

This is the way.
Use fender washers on the inside to distribute the load. Then lock washers so they don't come loose.

Locking the case also "theft proofs" the mounts since you'd have to open the case to get to the wing nuts inside.

This method is tool-less as well which is nice.

Ran this setup for a few years.
