Front Struts leaking

Thanks for the reply, kmeeg. I found and watched your video the other day - quite informative. Since this is my wife's 2wd 4Runner that is never taken off road, I really don't want to drop too much on suspension. I'm leaning toward swapping to SR5 shocks and coils. The ride quality of bilsteins with Ltd coils doesn't sound good.

Look around for take offs. I found a set F & R very modest cost as new runner owner immediately changed the suspension. Installation & alignment was more than the new parts. But now I am good for another 50,000 or so miles.

Do some research on the 4Runner XREAS suspension, it's a known weak point in these vehicles, but only affects Limited, because that's the only trim they come on. I'd say 70k - 100k is commonly a failure mileage on that system.

Most people who choose to mod their vehicles pull that junk out and put in a good suspension if they are deviating from stock. If you're sticking stock, you're about to buy a high end suspension simply to repair it if you can't fix easily.

Leaking but not bouncing means it's dying, but not dead. When the fluid is gone, your ride quality will go to pot because no oil will be there to make the shocks works properly.
