Lift For My 2016 4Runner TE W/ KDSS

I am very new to the 4Runner world. I know this has been a very popular question for TE owners, but I am having trouble finding what lift kit will work best for me. I have done hours of research and took a look through many different threads, so I apologize if I missed a similar thread (if I did please point me in the right direction.) I recently purchase the 3"F / 2"R SST LIFT KIT by ReadyLift....come to find out this wasn't going to work with the KDSS. So, I returned it and now I am trying to find a lift that isn't $2K. I don't really see the point in spending 2k on a lift since my 4runner is my daily driver and I won't be doing much off roading. I plan to do some mild off roading in the future, but nothing extreme. I will be towing a trailer from time to time and I will be adding on some accessory weight. After seeing some lifted 4Runners while we lived in Hawaii (we are military) I am pretty set on lifting mine over here on the East Coast. ANY SUGGESTIONS WILL HELP. I am currently considering the Toytec Ultimate Lift with Bilsteins or the Revtek 3″ Lift Kit (trying to avoid the "rake" look). Please also include tire and rim suggestions. TY!!!

 

I'm getting ready to put a lift on my 2011 Trail 4Runner. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get the Dobinson lift. They make a lift for KDSS 4Runner. The lifts Dobinson has gets good reviews. Wheels I have are Stealth Custom Series. Very nice rims and are hub centric for the Toyota.

Can't go wrong with OME, Bilstein, or Toytec for an effective budget build. Hell I'm doing the same.

To fit 285s (33s) you'll need at least 2.5" - 3" front and 1" - 2" rear lift. OME & Bilstein with aftermarket springs will run around $1,000. UCAs are $400 - sky's the limit.

UCAs aren't exactly necessary at 2.5" ( needed at 3") but that's up to you, your wallet, and alignment specs.

Here's my setup if you want to look into it.

SPC UCAs : best bang for your buck upper control arms out there.

Front : Bilstein 5100s, Wheelers Off-Road T1 coils, and a 0.25" top hat spacer.

Rear : Bilstein 5160s, Wheelers Off-Road T13 coils, and a OME 10mm spacer. 5100s will work fine in the rear; but I found a good deal on the 5160s.

Overall it'll give 2.5" front & 1.5" rear. The 2 spacers are driver side only to prevent "taco lean".
