Greetings! I'm not sure this is the right place for this post. Please delete if not allowed. I picked up my 04 2runner a few weeks ago and it came with one key and keyfob. Checking with a few places, I'm being told the key has a chip in it and a new one with programming is something like $160 not counting keyfob. Is there a cheaper solution for this? Thanks!

Here's the one I picked up from ebay a couple of years ago: https://www.ebay.com/itm/133125656996

Took it to my local Toyota dealer parts dept, had them cut it according to the key code that they looked up online. They said they wouldn't guarantee that it would work, but it did. To program it, google "4th gen 4runner key programming" and read the instructions carefully... It's pretty easy.

Thank you! This is what I was looking for (as close to stock as possible). I'll have to do some googling and see if I can find it and will follow up.

EDIT: using the info in your screen shot, I did a quick google search. It seems there are TON of options out there for $50 or less. ... Now to find a reputable company, and google/youtube how to program the key.
