    First problem (I started a thread) with 4runner and thought it was time to join the crowd. We bought the 08 new and, as the wife's occasional driver, it only has 12,000 miles! (I know, we should drive it more now that we're retired and have only one other car....my cool sports car that keeps me young at heart).

    My automotive background is hobby-only with some SCCA road racing (competition licensed driver) back in the late 60's. Cut short when military service intervened. Served in the Navy for 6 years flying anti-submarine missions both land and carrier-based...long time ago. Daughter always kids me about our old aircraft having two wings and made of wood.

    Professional career included free-lance technical illustrator for various companies, then landed in Houston and ran a graphics department for an oil company for many years. Still do various automotive related artwork and illustrations for hobbyists.

    Love our old but pristine Toyota and will keep her forever. (Just donated our old '94 Astrovan with 200K miles, so we treat our vehicles like family members).
