I would use this on any faded black plastic to bring it back to life.

Second ceramic coating on plastics, brings the color back and lasts a long time

The roof rack (rails and cross bars) are all steel. The caps that slide into the rails are plastic. I repainted mine with rustoleum flat black enamel and a self etching primer base. That worked but if you actually use the roof rack use a durable clear coat because mine had some minor peeling after hard use.

The side steps are a different plastic. Timmy made a video about dying the plastic, use the product in that video. I tried foreverblack and it looked good for a week before reverting back. The plastic fades, dying it is the only way. Anything without dye temporary darkens the plastic until it wears off.
