what book do you take with you in your runner right now, that you can’t put down?!

before you react like my wife did when she saw what book I’m reading, open your mind to the possibility that you may know next to nothing about anything.

Haven't sat down to read a book in years, something to do with late onset of ADD I think?
Some of the book titles I'd like to reread...A Confederate General In Big Sur, Trout Fishing in America, One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest....most anything by Kurt Vonnegut
Arrested Development....as it is...so be it!

Not in the 4R at the moment, but if you’ve been to Moab, you have to read Desert Solitaire by Edward Abbey. Or if you’ve been to the Grand Canyon, read The Man Who Walked Through Time by Colin Fletcher.

I haven't read that one, but I like the cover! I haven't seen one, but I know a few credible people who have stories about encountering UFO's (or UAP's as they are called now), so I have a very open mind when it comes to that topic.

I take advantage of the iPhone/iCarPlay connection to listen to audio books. Just now I am wending my way through C J Box series of Joe Pickett Wyoming Game Warden books. Light enough for easy listening, and perhaps the career option I will always wish I had pursued.

I have this one and every one of his books, all autographed by him when I met him years ago at a signing. I took my entire collection and he signed them all.

I would be the first to admit that I probably do know next to nothing about anything. As humans we think we are so smart... Maybe about some things.

As far as what I am reading that I can't put down: Lockheed Blackbird - Behind the Secret Missions by Paul F. Crickmore

All of you will think I'm nuts for this one, but aviation has been in my blood forever...

Other favorites - Older Dale Brown books (fiction) and older Tom Clancy. Some Michael Patterson thrillers, most any John Grisham and a few Michael Crichton...

I don't drive and read books at the same time......when I'm camped I have a Kindle, with a choice of hundreds of books to choose from. Used to carry paperbacks but found the Kindle works much better. Reading a book at night meant having a light and that meant a million bugs trying to read the book with me. The Kindle I have set so it is white print on a dark background and that doesn't attract the bugs.

I don’t drive and read books neither, driving distracted/electronic device use is a steep fine in great white north!
I would love a kindle actually, for those reasons.

Reviving another dead thread. I'm usually just a vacation reader but took one with me to the dealer for service the other day. It's short and I made it about halfway through, want to read the rest:
    • Make Your Bed (William H. McRaven)

I don't read fiction, usually history, and have a much longer list I won't bore everyone here with but these are some interesting recents:
    • Seawolves: A History of the Vikings (Lars Brownworth)
    • Physics of the Future (Michio Kaku)
    • The Art of Intelligence: Lessons from a Life in the CIA's Clandestine Service (Henry A. Crumpton)
    • Double Cross: The True Story of the D-Day Spies (Ben Macintyre)
    • Lightning Down: A WWII Story of Survival (Tom Clavin)
    • D-Day: The Battle for Normandy (Antony Beevor)
    • Stalingrad (Antony Beevor)

I don't leave home without my ipad, and I have both Audible and Kindle on it. When I do long road trips I listen to audio books, and it really helps eat the miles. A couple weeks ago I made it through a 5-book fantasy novel series (3,600 miles), and on the prior trip I listened to a bunch of WWII naval non-fiction books. Then, when I am at a destination or camp spot/ hotel, I read Kindle books on the Ipad. I've got about 40 or 50 books on it currently, along with over a week (measured at 7-24 hour days) worth of movies and TV series downloaded, which I don't need wifi or cell service to watch.

I've read every one of the Joe Picket stories. Liked them all.

But I couldn't watch the TV series.

The guy they cast as Joe was some milquetoast actor that looked like the kid that gets beat up after gym class. Then they put a goofy hat on him that no respectable Wyomingan (?), would wear.

Nate wasn't Nate and the amount of "soap opera" was overwhelming.

I struggled through 2-1/2 episodes then cut my losses.

On TV, I'll take 40 year old Gunsmoke over modern Joe Picket.

    Disappointing and sad...
