Sup mate... i got mine from HIDkitpros . Hit the web site, click make and model, and what all you want (doors, licence plate, mirrors, dope lights, whatever) and the type/color, and done. You can get em from all over the place, but, this is where i got mines. Was cheap, came in like 4 days yada yada. Use the CODE you see, if ya go this route, one buddy used it about 2 months ago, and another did about 2 weeks ago, and it applied/worked. Install was brain dead easy. I have some kinda big paws, so, getting the old dope lights out, proved kinda a struggle. I put some electrical tape around em, left a bit of a tail, and then, was able to yank em out. I had em all done (full interior, front to back, doors, mirrors, all of em, and did stay WHITE on the licence plate, and vanity mirror ones) done in about 15 mins. While drinking a beer, and playing with the doggos. Just double check (turn them on) before you pop the lens back on, as they are polarity sensitive. Just a heads up. I effed up a couple, reinstalled everything on the first couple, just to have to remove everything, and turn a couple of em 180 degrees. Good luck, and post some pics when you got em done yo. :)

I love the look myself. I have a hard on for blue. And, again, super easy peasy, and damn cheap for the results. Good luck mate. Go get em done.

pardon my ignorance on this particular mod: why did you swap out the mirrors?

This weekend, added RCI skid plate, built (finished) two roof rack rails to add a basket to the top, installed a small 2 meter radio, and finished wiring a light bar. All and all a productive weekend, ready to hit the trails next week. I got some new speakers in from crutchfeild, hope to have time to put them in before we take off.

To get the blind spot mirrors in the upper corners. Didn’t want to attach cheap stick on mirrors on a $40k plus vehicle. And I used to have a Tacoma that had BSMs so it’s a learning curve for me. I no longer have a bright yellow flashing light warning me there is someone in my blind spot when I am changing lanes.

To get the mirror off, do you just yank it really hard?

Not even really hard. Push the side closest to the vehicle into the mirror housing as far as it will go. Leaves you a nice space on the opposite side to fit you fingertips behind and pull towards the vehicle. It will pop off pretty easy. There is a connection in the upper corner for the mirror heater, it just unplugs. Plug in the new mirror, you will see 4 round holes it snaps into. Line it up, hold the back of the mirror housing and push in the new mirror. Super easy.

    Does the Rav4 mirrors a plug/play? THX
I might just do that for the blind spots...I was thinking of putting blind spots cameras for each side like I had on my 15 Tundra I sold.....It was sweet as it was connected to the signal lights, every signal the camera would activate underneath left/right mirrors to see side traffic.

Interestingly, the Defender contact patch/tread width is about 1" wider on the Defender than the Bridgestone H/T's that came on the truck. Same tire size.

Super easy mod. These are the crappy tweeters that are in the dash if you don’t have JBL. If you have a body panel tool or a flat head screwdriver wrapped with something soft so you don’t scratch your dash. Carefully pry up the side away from the windshield. It’s held in by three little clips on that side. Once the cover is off it exposes the tweeter, there are 4 10mm bolts, only unscrew the bolts that hold the speaker in not the mount bolts. Speaker connection is plugged in, little tab on the side, push tab in unplug speaker.
The replacement speakers Subaru part #
H631SFJ101 are the high end tweeters Subaru uses. The are direct plug and play. They fit into the same bolt holes and same electronic connections as the crappy speakers. You can find them for less than $100 for the pair, just put the part # into a google search.
Just reverse the process from above and you have much better and I do mean much better sound from your tweeters. It’s an old Tacoma truck. Except on 4Runners you don’t need to remove the A pillar cover.

Just be super careful you don’t drop the bolts into the dash. You will never get it out and you will have to make a trip to Home Depot to get a replacement.

Did you just upgraded the tweeters only? I was thinking of adding a 4-6 channel Amp and upgrade all the speakers. I have already added a Custom JL 10" Subwoofer Box tucked in on the right pocket, flushed a mono amp....Audio Source LC6 to keep the stock Deck for now.....Trust me I hate the Entune stock deck but looks good in the truck

Guys, replacing your crappy tweeters with more crappy tweeters for twice the price of a quality 3.5" speaker is NOT the answer! Don't waste your $ on just a tweeter, buy and install a 3.5" 2 way speaker. That is worth the upgrade and that is the way to do it.

Good opinion. I am not a salesman and not telling anyone they have to do it. I am just relating my positive experience doing this mod. It’s a direct plug and play so no messing with wires, it fits into the existing speaker mount so no modifications, its a Kicker speaker so it’s good quality and my opinion far from crappy, and the improvements in sound are significant. Just read the reviews by the hundred or so people that have done it in their Tacoma’s. As with all modifications I suggest people do their own research and do what they think is best for them.
