Ah. So would you mind not tainting the pool on others that want to express their experience with something they’ve actually installed? It seems like you have your reasons for not wanting or needing the mod. We got it. But it’s hard to take your input seriously since you haven’t actually any experience with it. Thanks

If folks say "wow, I like this much better"... anecdotal or otherwise, and regardless of what it actually does or doesn't do, it seems like it might be a good thing for some people?

My input, if you read carefully, has nothing to do with my experience with or without the device- it was merely correcting some misinformation about what the device actually does.

By all means, if you are unsatisfied with the pedal response of the 4Runner, get this device. It will let you move your ankle less. But that is all it does.

Well, you can lead a horse to water but if he drowns it’s his own fault. Stay thirsty my friend.

You don't sound convinced. Here, I'll try again.

Your analogy of switching from a ball mouse to a super duper laser gaming mouse is incorrect. It is a misrepresentation because in your example, you're changing physical hardware. A more accurate description would be that you've adjusted the sensitivity of the mouse input on your settings (a software change), making the ball mouse more responsive to inputs.

I'll give you one more example, and then you can continue on regardless if you're convinced or not. I'll even use an analogy with a 4Runner, since it's the one thing on this site we're all familiar with.

Two guys each have a 4Runner. They like listening to the stereo when they're driving. One guy likes listening to the stereo at all kinds of different volumes as occasion calls for it. Soft music when his kids are in the car, and louder when he's driving to work by himself. The volume knob has 64 detents (zero to MAX) so that he can finely tune the volume to the appropriate level.

The other guy likes listening to his music LOUD, all the time. He wants it at full volume, all the time, as soon as he turns on the car. He's fed up with having to turn the knob so much every time he wants his music LOUD. "Why can't this damn thing just be loud RIGHT NOW?!" he laments. A company approaches and says "Hey, we'll reprogram your volume knob for $300. You'll only need to turn the knob 10 notches to reach MAX VOLUME instead of 64." Happily, he hands over the money.

(If you're at all into basic audio terminology, you'll know that what they've done is adjusted the GAIN of the amplifier, not increased the VOLUME of the system. The GAIN is simply the ACCELERATION at which the volume can be adjusted. They didn't add subwoofers or a higher wattage amplifier or better speakers for increased sound fidelity).

Man #1 asks the other, "Wow, what a nifty device! Is your 4Runner stereo much louder now?"

Man #2 thinks about the question for a bit before replying. "No, but I can tell you that it FEELS louder."

Both men are happy. One is $300 poorer.

To each his own.....I have read a few reviews and the common theme is a quicker acceleration with the PC. All said and done, if you want it, buy it...if you want to chill and cruise....don't get it......I will chime back in once I get it and try it out.....Best

Can anyone offer advice on removing the throttle plug? I'm having trouble with the reach, press, and slide. Any trick to it?

My PC should arrive tomorrow per AZ Prime. I will let you know if there are any difficulty unplugging the throttle cable.

Sorry about the terrible photo, but I used it during my install because my fat butt didn’t fit too well in that area. I believe all I did was press the top area by he cables and that allowed the lever to unclip from the bottom.

I've been using Sprint booster on my Tacoma 4x4 for almost 5 years with no issues whatsoever. I have it on my 911tt and my son also has it on his GT86 and we love it.

I was hoping there was some trick. I saw how to disconnect the throttle plug in a YouTube video and even practiced with the Pedal Commander itself. Mine won't slide off no matter how hard I press.

If anyone else has had this problem and has some advice, I'd appreciate it.

Since your plug seems to be stuck somehow, try a pick tool to depress the plug. You would need two tools, one to push the tab, other is pull it out while tab is depressed. If that doesn't work, any local mechanics should be able to unplug it for you. My PC was delayed again from AZ so haven't gotten it yet.
ENOREN: I removed mine just to see how hard it was.....You are right, the harness was installed by squeezing on the inner side of the harness. Nevertheless, after a few times using my fat fingers...to no avail.....
Went into my tool box and got pick tools out. I used it and although it was snugged. While pushing in with the pick tool, wiggle and pull up on the harness, it will come out.

I appreciate you taking the time... I didn't want to end up breaking such a critical component, but I'll break out the tools and give it another shot.

Finally got the PC in, installation was painless except I didn't wait for the car to be shut down for 5 min after my remote start and gave me the CHECK engine light. Waited 5 min, disconnected both clips, reinstalled it.....Check Engine light went away.....Thank God

I have the PC 27 model with bluetooth. Apparently this model works for other Toyota/Lexus Models also
Pros: Bluetooth set up was easy, download the App, Connect BT with SN/Code in the back of the Unit, It's small enough and can mounted left or right side on driver side panel
Con so far: Only way to change setting is via bluetooth from your phone, you can change the plus settings from 1-4 on the unit but not ECO, CITY, SPORT, or SPORT Plus setting

I tried it out in City mode 1,2,3,4- Throttle response is noticeably faster then stock
I will try Sport next to update.
