    I’m a regular car wash guy, so we’ll see how these local dealer sold adhesive emblem blackouts work over the long term.

    I don't understand about the "Toyotas job" comment but yeah, it looks way better without the chrome. I have the same kit on mine for about two years now with no issues.

    Toyota wants chrome to increase the visibility of their product.

    My fear with the overlays is that if they fail after, say, two years, and then you take them off... is the chrome gonna be toast from the grit and debris that accumulates?

    Not a big deal, as you could simply get new overlays or replace the chrome. But I am curious about long term. They do look much better imo!
