Sorry if this is an off-topic.
I am a new member with minimal off-roading experience thus this type of stupid question.

Fresh drivers like myself tend to make mistakes sometimes and getting stuck while going off-road.
Many people are carrying CBA/GMRS/UHF/Satellite for that type of scenarios, but my question is - what type of recovery services you would engage in case you're stuck in woods?
    a) AAA will probably not drive where you were able to get.
    b) Park rangers? Can they pull you out?
    c) Friends? Can they drive 2-3 hours to help you?
    d) Some specialized towing or recovery services? Should I find them in the area I am going to prior to moving out?

Would greatly appreciate your help and advice.
    Thanks!

Having more than one rig, has been my best bet,... especially when i wanna get really silly.
Ill horse around here and there alone all day, every day, out in the desert or up in the hills. No worries. But, keep it fairly tame if alone. When its go time, its go time with another rig(s) in the group for me. When i was younger, before cell phone stuff, and in a small ass, middle of no where town, where triple A, was a name of a cheap beer,... ive been "that kid" that has been stuck, and has been broke, in the desert, and spent a night once or twice out in no where land before family, or friends came to help. It sucked, for sure.

Now,... pack correctly, let some one know the whats-its (where im going, and should be back), know my limits if in single rig, and,.... go with another or group, if its time to hammer down.

I have been stuck a few times when all I needed was a winch. In those instances I ended up having to dig and build up underneath the tires to get out. I try not to do that anymore. I now have a winch and always carry a shovel, small hatchet and recovery straps as well as some folding traction boards.

As far as I'm concerned, anyone that is going to go places where there is real potential to get stuck should have a winch and adequate recovery tools. It's kind of like having a gun. Better to have and not need than need and not have. I also have a large knife, fire starting gear and light shelter as well as a small first aid kit. Most everything you need will fit in a plastic storage container and take up very little room in the back of the car.

learning the hard way is something typical for lots of folks, (myself included) there are classes out there that will give you the info on certain things (self recovery). yes call ranger, if you cant get out yourself if the ranger cant help they'll at least get you to their post. important to remember is not going it alone. a WINCH is the number one thing on my list of updates over suspension wheels and tires ALWAYS.

    Thank you for your answers.
Wheeling together is definitely the best option and I already have a whinch.
Just thinking about something that is not planned.
This is why was asking about last resort scenarios and services I could call in via InReach....

    Thanks again.

The places where a friend I were most recently stuck was in the Colorado Rockies, and there was no one to call or contact. No such thing as cell service, emergency phone service or anything else up there so I try to have all I might need to get out as well as a few things that will help if I have to stay a night or two.

Travel in pairs. Keep recovery straps, a winch helps tremendously too. If you don't have a winch, a come a long will work in a pinch. Use tree savers and shackles, also WEAR your gloves - this may or may not be from experience.

Thank you all for the answers.
Agree that traveling in pairs or as a part of the group is the best option.

Just assessing plan B for weekends when I make short 1 day trips around.
