What made you decide to change model years in the Tacoma?

I was stationed in GA with the family in TN. I put a lot of miles on my 16 in the two years I had it. I just went over 20 years of service and will be retiring in a few years so I figured get some new vehicles now and pay them off before I retire. And in all honesty, my 16 was BBP, picked by my son and I was tired of it. I'm not that flashy

I’m at 21 and change. I think 2020 and at the very latest, 2021 I’ll be retiring. E8 with 23 or 24 years isn’t too bad.

I just hit 20 in August and have a promotion board for CW3 this year so if selected and I take the promotion I'm looking at 3-4 more years to be in the "high three" for retirement. Waking up every morning is getting harder and harder tho :oldglory:

I tried the CWO appointment thing but apparently my organization felt I was better suited for the enlisted ranks

Decided to try it and it is easily the best thing I've done in my career

We have a decent enough process for it. Gotta apply first and make sure you have enough points to move to the next step. If you do, gotta write up a resume in a specific format, Officer evaluation report and submit it up for a board to review them all and rack and stack. Once that’s done, wait around for the message to come out showing you where to lined up and if you made the cut.

The Army's is basically the same minus the points. The resume and everything goes in with your initial packet, through the individual career branch before going to the centralized board. Then its the waiting game
