Frame construction 4Runner vs. Tacoma?

    The Tacoma has a "C Frame" construction (At least my 2006 did)
    Is the 2024 4Runner a box frame or C Frame construction?

    The 4Runner has been fully boxed since at least 2003. The Taco was a C channel up until 2024.

    My 2022 is box frame. I doubt they changed it?

    Oh, is the Taco now box framed as well (2024+)?

    The 4Runner frame has always been boxed since the first generation starting in 1984. See pictures: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116/frame-swap-1986-toyota-4runner-pictures-251080/

    The Tacoma frame was C-channel in the rear section before 2024 because it's a truck. The rationale at the time was to isolate the cab from NVH caused by cargo. Hino truck frames (i.e. big Toyota) are all C-channel.
