He guys so I need some help. I have a 97 4runner 3rz with a rattle that sounds like an exhaust. Happens at 2500 rpms or so. On deceleration and acceleration.if I ease into it sometimes it wont happen. Took it in to exhaust shop. Guy say it had a cracked muffler which it did. Replaced exhaust. Still have the headers it had on it. Noise still happens!!! Muffler guy said it's coming from fly wheel area. Still sounds like exhaust to me. Anyone have this problem? I've been searching forums for hours I'm going crazy. Thanks

Maybe you have a cracked flexplate.

I've heard of that problem. From the videos of the sound it doesn't sound like a flex plate. It's more like a super fast can rattle. Took into mechanic today and checked around with stethoscope. Sounded like exhaust to him but he had to do a deep investigation to be sure and I didn't have time today for that. I'm going to check the headers and see if I can find anything
