My 2008 4Runner Sport needs new tires. It's got about 96k on it, and I will likely drive it until this set gives out; might even keep it for one more set. (I love this truck.) . My driving is about 75/25 highway to off-road; mostly gravel and hard dirt. I frequently tow a light trailer, 2k weight tops. We tend to get a lot of snow and ice here in the winter. I'm also hearing-impaired so a quiet tire is a must; otherwise I have difficulty hearing what's going on around me. I'm not picky about brands so any and all suggestions please!

I have Toyo Open Country that I like a lot. When I put them on I did a Db check against the Dunlops that came from the factory and found that they were as quite, but are more aggressive. The get good reviews and have a long mileage warranty.

just look into some ALL-TERRAIN. no need to go for mud or anything crazy aggressive. some toyo little brother. nitto g2's will work for your particular application. maybe some
falken wildpeaks AT3 good for 55k mills.
    toyo good for 65k

I have a 2005 Sport with 245k miles. I'm still on my 3rd set of Dunlops - that's more than 80k per set. I keep thinking i should be getting a new set, but i still have plenty of tread. I'll probably get dunlops when i do. I'm in the northeast and so get plenty of ice and snow.

Michelin Defender MS are the quietest tire I've ever ran. And they're more than capable for mild off road. There's a video of someone rock crawling with them over on tacoma world. Not advised due to potential sidewall puncture, but it is illustrative of the capability of the tire. I run them simply because they're so quiet on the highway. And almost silent in town. I also drive in pastures, dirt roads, minimum maintenance roads, etc. But no
    hardcore off road.
