Which one would you pick or what would you recommend ?

So I am looking to enhance the look of my Ltd and want it to be more off road capable but don’t want to lose on road ride feel that Xreas provide.

For the tires,I’m probably going with either Falken or Nitto unless you can suggest something you think it’s better.

I do 80% of highway driving,10% of local and 10% of driving on dirt and gravel roads.

I also live in a cold climate area where snow lasts 7 months ,so salt and rust factor must be taken into account when selecting. Thank you ahead!

 

Nothing wrong with any of those choices... I've heard plenty good about OME but have no experience with them. I put Bilsteins on my Tundra and loved what they did for the ride as well as leveling out the rig. Sold the Tundra got a 2018 4runner and put a Stage 2 Icon suspension on it and can't say enough. Amazed at the on road and off road.

 

You're asking about tires, right?

I live in CO, so a similar climate as you--although, we don't use salt. I can't give you advice on the two tires you listed (although, my truck is literally having Nittos put on this week). Currently, I use (as do many 4Runners) BFG K02s, which are fantastic both on and off road. They are quiet on the pavement and really perform well in snow and off-road. The size of mine are 275/70/17, on a 3" Toytech lift with UCAs, and has performed really well off road, too.

My new setup will be 295s/Nittos on a 3.5 inch, Icon Stage 7. I can give feedback in a month or so on this setup (best to remind me). I have an off road trip planned in two weeks, up in the mountains, so that'll be its first test.

The suspensions you list each have their own merits; Icon is arguably the best, but most expensive, and is designed to allow you to add upgrades to the core Stage you choose, as your off road needs change.

OME/Bilstein are certainly high quality and will give you more than you need, too. It will come down to, not how much off road you do (10%), but the TYPE of off roading. If you are driving hard and bumpy, go with the Icons. If you are just finding some good trails, with occasional rocks and obstacles, the OME and Bilstein options will be plenty good, and better on the wallet.

 

I put Cooper ST Maxx on the wife's Limited w/ Pro Rims. On A side note what did you use to black out that chrome strip on the front. And what is that Toyota emblem. I like the way that looks.

I am mainly asking for the suspension but I appreciate for your input! How difficult is it to rebuild the ICON though? Because I am in Canada and shipping it to your country and having them rebuilt would cost me a fortune.

 

That is a limited pro appearance. You would need an upper radiator grille mesh ,the parts number is PZ327-35053 and a trd pro garnish.
Your ltd looks way sexier than a stock ltd,I didnt realize taking the running board off would make a huge difference on the appearence.

 

We ditched the XREAS and put the Toytec Eibach on my wifes Limited. Handles way better than the XREAS.
TRD wheels with Nitto Terra Grapplers 270/70/17. We have about 5000 miles on the Nittos, so far they have been good. We haven't had any snow or ice so I really can't say how they handle that yet.

 

Do you have any pics of your wife's ltd? I am glad you like the new ride feel,because it seems to me that there is not many aftermarket suspension kits that can duplicate the ride quality especially when cornering that Xreas provides.

Looks really unique especially with those trd pro wheel with gunmetal color. How many inches of lift is that?

 

3/1, because of the Limited additional paneling it doesn't look like it in the picture. When get in and out you notice it. If it were mine there would be no chrome. She liked the TRD PRO but, she loved the Limited. Happy wife, happy life.

ETA she wanted the running boards because shes only 4'11, she kind of needs them.

 

Thanks for the info. I didn't have to take the running boards off. It didn't come with them. They're not the best looking anyway.

 

I'd go with Nitto or Toyo tires. I have had many sets of each with o complaints.

You have some good suspension choices. I have the Icon Stage 2 on my 4Runner with the Delta Joint UCAs. NO complaints and GREAT ride.
