I am new here and also new to upgrading for runners. I'm looking for any advice to help me upgrade my 2013 Toyota 4Runner SR5. I did not want to buy a new vehicle so I thought about upgrading this and make it move I am looking for the rough rugged look. New rims, tires, grill, lift kit, and running boards. Any advice on size of tires rims and others will be greatly appreciated thanks much!

I think the best thing to do is look through the pics. that are posted on the forum, then when you see something you like, ask about it. It is really all about your likes.

@D-Nice513 Can’t wait to see how your build goes. I’ve gotten a lot of ideas from this group and seeing fellow Toyota Runners on the road.

I choose mods/accessories based on needs. For example, I don't really need a lift at this time because this is a very capable vehicle in stock form, however, I replaced the tires with BFG KO2's as soon as I could. I also added skid plates and sliders for protection.

If I was to lift it I would want bigger rims and tires and that would require a re-gear form me because I would want to keep performance as close to stock as possible. So decide what direction you want to take your 4 and be honest about what you are going to use it for before throwing lots of money at it. Have fun!

What are you using it for?
If just for looks I'd do 1.5" suspension lift, with either 285/70/17 or 255/75/17 tires with some mild All-terrain tires Falken wildpeak or Cooper discoverer at/3.

    Some ditch lights, @CaliRaisedLed
has good deals. Most of these are fairly functional things to add but they all add looks to the truck.
Look for a slimline front bumper, don't really need the winch but the bumper looks cool and adds safety.MTH_1028.jpg

Pic is from SSO, not mine.
