Autostart not working

So I just installed the Alpha Rex pro headlights. I attempted to connect the DRL to the 10amp INJ fuse. My 4runner would not turn over after I had the wiring for the DRL connected. So I disconnected the wiring, it started fine. Now the weird thing is, my autostart no longer works. Is there a fuse for that? I checked both of the INJ fuses and they are fine.

 

By autostart, are you referring to remote start? If so, is it aftermarket?

 

I have a 2020 4runner off road premium I put alpharex pros on mine I have no problems. My remote is a startx aftermarket works just like original toyota setup maybe your remote needs paired

 

Yes. Remote start. No. It is factory.

 

I would double-check the fuses on your remote start.

A short in the parking lights could fry the remote start PCB board. This would be a worst case scenario on cheap aftermarket units. The higher end units will have built in diode and relay protection.

 

Limited and Pro are the only ones with factory remote start at least in the US. I’m assuming you’re talking about the 2020 in your signature?

Signature says TRD OR Premium. That’s not a Pro. Your picture also has turn signals in the mirrors which were not available on Pros in 2020. Your remote start is not “factory.” May have been installed by the dealership. Start where @steelevo pointed you

 

I use the Toyota key fob that came with it. The dealer I went didn't know anything about any of the options on this. They tried to tell me it was a TRD and they told me it had no remote start.

 

I'm taking it to the dealer. I have someone from Toyota Corporate scanning my anti-collision system and I'll have them look at it after they're done with it.

 

If you bought this new, look at your paperwork for dealer-installed options. If used, see if there's anything about remote start in that paperwork, but in that case, the PO could have installed it too.

If I came on here with a problem like this, and more than one person told me that my model didn't come with the option in question (from the factory), I'd apply the brakes and research to see if they were correct. If they were, I'd thank them and try to pursue a solution to the problem that I really have. Reading this as an outsider with no dog in the fight, it seems to me that your rig has an aftermarket remote start. It's not an insult for someone to list for you the models that came with a particular factory option. You came on here asking for help, and help was offered.

 

Like I said, the idiots at the toyota dealer didn't know what the model of my 4 runner was or any of the other features I found out for myself. I will find out next week if it is OFE remote start or not.
