Crackle in the morning because juice is advertising pancakes in September.

The point of absurdity is when a person tries to tell everyone else they have to do what they do or they're wrong. There is no oil standard of perfection.

If you like Toyota oil, use it and be happy.

IMG_2176.jpg This picture was taken a few months back when I replaced the valve cover gaskets on my 2013 Trail. We bought it with 104k and it had 219k at this point. Oil changed every 5k with Valvoline 0W-20. You guys are going far deeper in the weeds than you need to. Just change your oil on a regular basis and you will be good.

At this point I don’t own the vehicle nor do I have a borescope camera to capture that.

More like Toyota approaches ExxonMobil and asks them to make a cheaper oil i.e. lower-quality base oil compensated with more additives to reach an acceptable level of performance.

That's what happens with other oil companies too. For example, Quaker State oil has almost three times as much moly as Pennzoil Platinum, even though Pennzoil Platinum is the more costly product from Shell:

Toyota owns ~32% of Aisin, Aisin being founded by Kiichiro Toyoda 75 years ago. That's why most Toyota models use Aisin transmissions, Aisin water pumps, Aisin actuators, and Aisin brakes (branded under Advics). ExxonMobil doesn't have this incestuous relationship with Toyota. They make Toyota motor oil because they were the lowest bidder that met Toyota's requirements.

From strictly a curiosity standpoint, I would love to see the condition of the main and connecting rod bearings as these have significant pressure/friction placed upon them.

I have used Quaker State dino oil in this pick-up for 274,000 miles. And we all know how shitty Quaker State is. Somehow it burns no oil. Just change it at the recommended intervals and the motor will last a long time.

I run a total loss system. So by that I mean I leave the drain plug out and I have a 55 gallon drum sitting on my roof rack feeding into the engine. There's always fresh moly on everything.

If you aren't using an IBC oil pallet container, are you even a real Toyota owner?
