Lift or Leveling Kits?

Hey guys, new member here... I am curious as to what is the best option, as far as lift kits go, for someone who has a 4runner as a daily driver and weekend trip for the family. I am planning on buying a brand new one here soon and wanting tires and lift on as soon as we get it. Looking for advice and places to look at. I live in Alaska. I already have tires in mind but I cant seem to get a clue as to what lifts are the best quality not most expensive but quality.

 

Are you looking to lift it to run bigger tires or just for appearance?

I was in your position to, I ended up getting the TRD Pro Bilstein suspension. It will lift the front 1” or so but vastly improve the ride. Mine actually show up today.

For me, I don’t have a need to run larger tires but wanted to correct the nose dive, and level it out a bit. The TRD Pro suspension is a big upgrade all around both on and off road.

 

I did what Collin did, I added Bilstein 5100's up front set at .85 which gave me 1" front lift. All I wanted was to get rid of the nose dive and firm up the front. I stayed stock tire size KO2's in load range C. This IMHO is the best option for daily driving. It also makes your frame level, which should be the goal of any lift. You really want to be careful with the load range of the tires, E's will kill your gpm's.

 

I was kind of thinking of wanting a 2 inch lift or so. I know the higher you go the more the GPM's is effective. I want to stick with stock SIZE tire not necessarily type of tire. I was thinking Cooper STT and rear and front bumpers. It will be my wife's daily driver but she has given me full authority to do whatever I want haha. Will the TRD Pro Bilstein suspension work on a SR5 though? We are thinking about buy the SR5 vs the TRD because I heard its basically the same just the TRD is more expensive. Is that correct?

Seriously though, I have had good luck with Toytecs suspension lifts. I had one on my FJ and beat the hell out of it with no issues.
So when I picked up the 4r I went back to them. I got this kit for a bit under a grand with free shipping (at the time from realtruck.com):

It gives you some additional ride height (mine came out to exactly 3" after the lift settled), nixes that stupid front end dive and makes the 4r look more aggressive. I couldn't justify the cost of the higher end suspension lifts for my needs. I didn't research the recent pricing for the trd pro bilstein lift, but I am willing to bet in the long run it will cost as much or more as the toytec lift. Not to mention I'm guessing you aren't going to be doing any high speed off road runs, so the remote rear reservoirs probably aren't a necessity.

Pic for an idea of what that lift does for you...with 33" tires. I get about 19mpg. I drive like an old lady though.
