Hi new to the forum. Just brought a 1990 4runner with v6. previous owner said it had a blown head gasket. It had sat for a couple months before I got. Put new battery in it and would turn over but it would only spark for a second then stop. Put new rotor , cap , coil and wires. still the same problem. Any help would be nice. Thanks

Checked wiring to the coil and any wires under the rotor?

Found the problem. Wiring harness had melted together and had shorted out, not letting it get fire.
