Webber Carb and who knows what else
I know everyone has to hate newbies but to keep it short my son just finished his last tour and came home last week. He has always loved the outdoors and had his eye on a first gen 4runner. Now I am a decent wrench turner but don't have a clue on this creature. This weekend he found what he thought was a perfect vehicle to start with and he pulled up in the drive looking happier than he has been a long time. The good its supposed to have the motor rebuilt engine, clutch and a few others. It has a weber carb which has me scratching my head when looking at service manual. Problems are the previous owner sucked at wiring. Its going to be a nightmare but I can figure most of it. The 4X4 has me worried. Says the manual lockout hubs were rebuilt and works fine but when I crawled underneath I found where there are a couple of electrical plugs unhooked and it looks like part of the wiring harness is gone. Can the 4X4 work without these connections???? The second is one of the messes of wiring tucked under the seat I don't have a clue.Is it factory or something the previous owner had? That's the pic sitting on the seat. Please take a look and if you any ideas of what I am in store for please let me know. He has been gone a long time and he loves this ride and I cant tell him its a POS so I will have to find a way to fix it. I know the owner ripped out the A/C but I can fix that pretty easy. We appreciate your help.
