Regearing for 33s

State Troopers are my favorite of the LEOs. I have found most of them to be only interested in conveying the message, that's all. I wouldn't take any chances on New Jersey Turnpike though

 

If you're on the Jersey Turnpike, you're taking chances. It's a great road to avoid.

 

I will say that any interactions I've had with troopers have been pleasant. I've caught a few breaks over the years.

 

They do seem to be more professional

 

I consume a lot of fuel on 33s and while towing a trailer as the truck often runs 3rd and 4th gear much of the time on the highway. Thats my reason for wanting to do it: so the truck runs a little more efficiently while towing.

 

Not on my 285/75s

 

I was obviously referring to 285/70/17's as that is the most typical (and logical) tire size upgrade. Our speedometers read high with stock size tires, but pretty close to accurate with 285/70/17 tires.

 

Mine are almost right in the money with 285/70-17s now. Almost never a variation from GPS vs speedo. 1/2 mph tops.
