You can get the TRD Pro wheels for about the same price as the FN wheels from here... https://parts.olathetoyota.com/index.php?p=cart
My price from there would be $788, I haven't ordered yet either because i'm debating if I like the flat center cap or the outie on the TRD wheel. I won't run a tire larger than 265/70/17 because its my wife's ride...

Running a 285 on the stock width wheel (OP is asking) is not recommended. The f(x) wheels are meant to address the little shortcomings on the factory wheels.

While not recommended, they work fine.

I have sent FN-fx two e mails. Haven't bot an answer. Are they still in business??

I like the Pro wheels but am not going to run 285's on 7" wheels.

A 285/70R17 BFG AT KO2 can be mounted to a rim that’s 7.5”-9” wide and a 265/70R17 BFG AT KO2 can be mounted to a rim that 7”-8.5” wide.

Exactly. Ran 285’s on my old 4Runner and OE Toyota wheels for 60k miles with zero issue.

I just picked up my TRD Pros from the dealer. They actually worked with me on price out the door with install after I showed them a few other pricing options. Gotta say I love the new look.

BF Goodrich KO2 specs show that the 265 can be mounted on a 7, the 285 requires 7.5.

I stand corrected. I guess the Trail and TRD Offroad wheels are 17x7.5 where as the TRD Pro wheel is 17x7

Don't tell the thousands of people running stock SR5 rims, or TRD rims, that their 285s actually don't fit. They would upset to learn that they have not been driving with them for many thousands upon thousands of miles with nary a problem!

Get the f(x) wheels. Lighter, wider, better offset, and you can get them for $799 shipped or $699 picked up. Comes with lugs, wheel caps, etc. Do it right and don't look back!

I don't think anyone is suggesting that they won't fit, only that every tire manufacturer says that 285's are to be fitted on 7.5 or bigger rims. I assume that there is a reason for this or the manufacturer's would not impose such a limit. I'm guessing that the 285 on a 7" pulls the center in too much and causes the sectional width to round out. Does this hurt anything? Don't know.

If you have this wheel or any other 7" with 285's and are happy with the result then you are good to go. The point I and others were making is that the tire manufacturers say no, but what do they know right?

If FN-fx has the same wheel for the same or less money that is the right size, why not just go that way if you are buying new rims anyway?

I just got some TRD wheels with the specs of 17x8 and offset 5. From my understanding of the previous posts, I can go up to 285/70/R17 with a stock height? Anyone can confirm? Thanks in advance!!
