ok guys i have a 2012 SR5 4x4. looking to put some 285s on it and 17" aftermarket rims. i want as little lift as it takes for that size tire to work without rubbing. have heard that some are cutting on frame but thats not an option for me. can I do a 3-2 lift and that work? what kind of backspacing on rim? also trying to avoid putting spacers as they tend to give the ride a shimmy on the interstate. thanks for any advice.

I run a 3in lift with 285 on trd pro 17in rims. You will have to do some trimming of the inner fender or do the mod that pushes it in. And you will have to trim the body mount, but nothing serious. Others know more than me, but to answer your question a 3inch lift will do the trick.
